In November 2016, Safe Work Australia published a new research report Bullying and Harassment in Australian Workplaces: Results from the Australian Workplace Barometer Project 2014/15.
The key aims of this report is:
- to ascertain national prevalence data of workplace bullying and harassment
- to provide insights into the nature and extent of bullying and harassment
- to identify high-risk industries, and
- build an explanatory model of bullying.
The report found that the national average bullying rate was 9.6%. This represents a sizeable increase since 2009-11, where Australian workers reported experiencing 7.0%.
