Daring Greatly: How the Courage to be Vulnerable Transforms the Way We Live, Love, Parent and Lead
Such an apt quote that applies to both people who use bullying type behaviours and those who have been on the receiving end of those behaviours in our workplaces.
Both the bully and the target fear disconnection. In the complex world of bullying, one of the reasons the user of bullying type behaviours does so is because they seek to maintain connection. One of the reasons employees suffer mental health injury is because their connection to others is threatened and sometimes destroyed.
Preventing workplace bullying and providing appropriate support to both the target and user of bullying type behaviours is vital build and maintain connections in our workplaces.
I dare you to “dare greatly” and make workplace bullying prevention one of your priorities in 2019.
